Privacy Policy

Octavia is a personal portfolio project operated by an individual (“we”, “us”). It is not a registered company. You can reach us at hello@guevix.com. This policy explains what personal data we handle and why. It covers two very different things: this marketing website, and the Octavia product itself.

This website

This marketing site collects nothing. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no third-party trackers or advertising pixels, and has no login. The “get started” form on this site is a demonstration only — it validates your input in your browser and shows a confirmation, but it submits nothing to any server and stores nothing. Anything you type into it stays in your browser and is discarded when you close the page.

In short: browsing this website creates no record of you anywhere. The rest of this policy applies only to the Octavia product described below.

The Octavia product

Octavia is an AI assistant that answers messages on a business's Facebook Messenger, and a dashboard the business uses to manage it. It is provided to a small number of business users by manual approval. If you are one of those users, or a customer messaging a business that uses Octavia, this section applies.

What we process

• Business user accounts — the name and email of the people who sign in to the dashboard.
• Business configuration — the information a business gives the assistant: FAQs, hours, catalog, staff, and settings.
• Messenger conversations — messages sent to and from a connected Facebook Page, so the assistant can read and reply. These may contain whatever a customer chooses to type, including their name and contact details.
• Operational records — leads, bookings, and related notes the business creates or the assistant captures.

Roles

For a business's own customer conversations, the business is responsible for that data and Octavia processes it on the business's behalf, to provide the service. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use these conversations to advertise to anyone.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the product:

• Supabase — the database and authentication that stores the data above.
• Resend — sends transactional email, such as notifications and invites.
• Meta / Facebook Messenger — the messaging platform the assistant connects to. Meta's own handling of Messenger data is governed by Meta's privacy policy.

We share data with these providers only as needed to operate the service. We do not share it for their own marketing.

Retention

We keep data for as long as an account is active and the data is needed to provide the service. If a business stops using Octavia, its data can be deleted on request. Email us and we will remove it.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@guevix.com and we will act on the request. If you are a customer who messaged a business that uses Octavia, contact that business first, since the data is theirs — we will help them honour your request.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the data, including access controls and an authenticated dashboard. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Octavia is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Governing law

We are based in the Philippines, and we handle personal data with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 in mind. This policy is a good-faith description of what the product does, not legal advice.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Because this is a personal project offered as-is, material changes may simply be posted here rather than announced.
